Santa Cruz Boardwalk

We arrived at Santa Cruz Boardwalk about 30 minutes before everything opened. Strolling down the boardwalk before everything opens is a serene and calming experience. The rides are still and silent, along with all the colorful vendors and shops. We could hear the sounds of the ocean and with the beach also being empty we headed down to the sand and water so we could compare it with our beaches on the island. We win hands down! But it didn’t take away from the beauty that we were experiencing in another part of the world.

The boardwalk started to come to life you could smell the aroma of all the sweet treats and hear the clatter of the roller coaster, people, and music echoing all around.

My sister was so excited to eat at Hot Dog on a Stick, I have no idea why, we have one 5 minutes up the road at the mall from where we live on Oahu. But her thing was… “I’ve never had one on a beach in California”. Good point! I ended up getting a lemonade and agreed that it did taste different knowing that we were on a beach in California. We ended up leaving shortly after, we weren’t interested in rides or games we were just killing some time and having a nice experience before getting ready for BEYONCE!
